Traffic Data Layers

ATRs

-Devices that continuously collect vehicle class and volume data.

Weight in Motion

-Devices that continuously collect weight data along with volume, axle spacing, length, speed, and vehicle type.

Vehicle Class Locations

-The location of counts specifically used in the determination of commercial vehicle volumes/travel patterns, which contribute to traffic forecasting.

Traffic Segments

-The organization of roadways into unique parts for the determination of annual average daily traffic (AADT).

Traffic Count Locations

-The location of the traffic count associated with individual Traffic Segments.

Draft AADT

-Traffic volume values that are currently estimated but have not yet been made official. These are displayed using the Traffic Segments layer.

Common Tasks

Below are common tasks the users of this mapping application may want to utilize. More in depth instruction on other tasks can be found by clicking the �Online Tutorial� button in the upper right corner of the map (shown as a square with a question mark). Finding a Draft AADT Traffic Segment (Sequence Number) on the Map:

1. In the Toolbar along the top of the map click the "Query" tool
2. A window will open up in which you will build a query to find the desired segment
3. Select "Draft AADT" as the layer to query
4. Select "SEQ_NUMBER" in the first window
5. Leave the second window as "="
6. Type the Sequence Number for the desired Draft AADT Segment in the third window
7. Hit the "Execute" button
8. A Report window will open up that shows all the information available for the Draft AADT Traffic Segment you have chosen
9. Click on the "Zoom to Feature" button to move the map window to this segment
10. Move or close the report window to better see the map window

1. In the Toolbar along the top of the map click the "Print" tool
2. Choose the desire output page size
3. A Print Template window will open where several options can be changed or left as the preset default
4. Change the Title if desired
5. Add specific Notes about the map if desired
6. Once all options have been set click the "View" button
7. Select "Download" and then choose whether to Open (view) or Save the resulting map (if saving the map choose the location and rename the file)
